u3a in East Suffolk Creative Writing Group (Felixstowe)

Whether you are a published author or simply love creating stories for your own amusement or for publication, this is the group for you!

We will be talking principally about fiction and drama. Sorry budding poets, it is not my area of expertise, so poetry is not something I will be including.

We will discuss genre, characterisation, style, voice and much more. The whole point is to make you a better writer, so the programme will evolve depending on your interests.

The group is intended to be an informal discussion group, not me teaching. I will suggest topics and give you the benefit of my many years of experience as a published author and journalist, but I stress it is your group, not mine.

We will meet on the fourth Thursday of each month, from October at Broadway House, 33 Orwell Rd, Felixstowe IP11 7DD which is alongside the exit from Highfield Road car park. Refreshments are available to purchase for a nominal sum.

I will set up a WhatsApp group as the preferred way of communication, so all members will need to provide their mobile phone numbers to be part of the group.

The first meeting will be on Thursday 22nd October from 10-12. Come along - coffee or tea with biscuits is just £1!

I look forward to seeing you there.

Michael
