The u3a movement is a unique and exciting organisation which provides, through local u3a organisations, life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!

Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teachers learn, and there is no distinction between them.

u3a in East Suffolk is the local u3a for the south-eastern area of Suffolk including Ipswich, Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Saxmundham, and surrounding towns and villages. u3a in East Suffolk is one of the larger u3as in the country.

All local u3a's are run by a locally elected committee who arrange talks, approve and support groups, and provide an organisational structure to support lifelong learning.

The u3a movement is supported by its national organisation, the Third Age Trust.
