AI & Canva For Beginners Course.  This four week course, during October, will gently walk through what is AI and Canva and how to use it in every day life.   

Members can access the Online (Zoom) event by clicking the link in 'More Information for Members' area.

Canva AI can help u3a members with:

• Promotional materials: Create flyers, posters, postcards, social posts, banners and invitations for talks, outings, open days and new groups.
• Group recruitment: Design “new members welcome” campaigns, leaflets and presentations explaining the benefits of joining U3A.
• Newsletters: Draft and format newsletters, club updates, event roundups and member announcements.
• Presentations: Build slide decks for speaker meetings, committee meetings, AGMs, open days and trustee briefings.
• Meeting materials: Prepare agendas, minutes templates, action lists, reports and discussion papers.
• Course and activity information: Create course descriptions, timetables, programme booklets, reading lists and activity guides.
• Event planning: Produce invitations, itineraries, name badges, schedules, signage and feedback forms.
• Member communications: Rewrite messages in a clearer, friendlier or more accessible tone, and adapt them for email, print or social media.
• Data presentation: Turn membership, attendance or renewal figures into charts and clear visual summaries, using an uploaded CSV or sheet.
• Membership campaigns: Create materials for renewals, welcome packs, volunteer recruitment and reminders about subscriptions.
• Consistent visual identity: Apply a shared colour palette, fonts and style across group materials when a Brand Kit is available.
• Web and interactive content: Create a simple group landing page, event information page, quiz, calculator or other interactive resource.
• Audio content: Generate introductory music or sound effects for videos and presentations.
• Accessibility improvements: Simplify wording, improve layout, increase readability and create clearer information for varied audiences.
• Ideas and planning: Brainstorm new activities, speaker topics, group names, annual themes and promotional approaches.

Members must always proofread AI output before using!

East Suffolk u3a members have access to a library of articles and courses showing how to use AI and Canva.  

AI can be used to Research topics, create images/text/songs/etc, summarise text/pictures/videos/etc.  Have a conversation with AI to help 'brainstorming' a topic or learn a language.

Canva is a Graphic editor that allows your Creativity to flow.  Millions of people around the world use this 'drag and drop' graphics editor to very quickly turn ideas in to media.
