We are a friendly group with the aim of observing and enhancing our knowledge of the wildlife in the surrounding localities. Meeting once a month on the third Thursday morning between 10am and 12 noon we amble around a chosen walk, lead by one of the members, stopping to listen and look at the various things we hear and see.
Individually we add to an extensive pooled knowledge of the animal, bird, insect and plant world. We are hoping to extend this learning with new members who also wish to have a greater interest in the natural world. True to the objects of the u3a we learn from each other.
This is not a group that walks as far and fast as possible in the two hours but by 12 noon we might just need to increase our pace to get to the nearest pub or cafe to recuperate and, of course, give us the chance to discuss and identify things that we have seen.
Every member is individually informed about the meeting place before each walk.
