What is the course about?

The Family History course aims to give you information and skills to enable you to research and record your Family Tree or extend the research you have already started.

The course comprises 8 group sessions, plus an opportunity to have a one to one session with a tutor if you wish and information about visiting the Suffolk Archives at The Hold.

The course will include information about how to research your family history using the Internet, but also an opportunity to start your research – with help - during the sessions.

We will show you how to use paid web sites and free sites as well.

 

The course will cover:

Births, Marriages and Deaths, Census, Wills, Parish Registers and Parish Records, as well as a host of other information such as Military Records, Maps, Directories and Newspapers.
