Operation & objectives
Culture Vultures is an opportunity to discuss a wide variety of cultural interests including art, music, sculpture, poetry, historical artifacts, media and science.
Each member is to take a turn in presenting a topic, so that we experience a wide variety of cultural interests and makes a commitment to do research and lead a discussion. Each member also makes a commitment to do some research of their own prior to the meeting in order to engage in the discussion.
Meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, at 2.30 pm. The meeting will last approximately one and a half hours. It will begin with a 15 minute presentation from the “leader” followed by a 45/60 minute discussion about the topic. This discussion is to be followed by tea/coffee and general chat about upcoming and recent cultural events. The host receives 50p from each participant to cover costs.
Meetings are to be held mostly in members’ homes, although it may be necessary to make changes according to numbers. The optimum number of members of the group is to be 12-14.
All arrangements regarding money are to be kept as simple as possible.
